Ireland's Great National Hotels Merges With UK's Hotel Partnership

Irish-based hospitality group Great National Hotels and Resorts has merged with British rival the Hotel Partnership to create a new independent hotel chain.

According to Great National co-founder and chief executive David Byrne, the merger of his company and the Hotel Partnership, whose brands include Classic British Hotels, will create an entity that has 135 hotels and over 8,150 bedrooms, as reported by The Irish Times.

Savings And Efficiencies

Once the merger is complete, the Hotel Partnership will continue to operate independently, but the two organisations will combine their technology, marketing and distribution services in the hopes of achieving savings and creating efficiencies.
