Irish Hospitality Industries Exhibition Underway In Dublin

Today (Wednesday February 7) is day two of the Irish Hospitality Industries Exhibition, which is playing host to a wide range of industry talks, presentations and forums until 5 o'clock this evening at the RDS, Dublin.

This afternoon's schedule will see the conclusion of the Hospitality Summit, the theme of which is "Preparing The Hospitality Industry For The Next Generation Of Customer". A number of staff recruitment and training sessions will be taking place from 2pm, starting with a talk from Harbour Hotels Group Academy Chef Trainer Sarah King entitled "Attract, Recruit, Retain and Develop Your Chefs - Addressing the Kitchen Staff Skill Shortage". The summit will then finish with a staff recruitment and training panel discussion and audience Q&A from 3.30 - 4pm.

Elsewhere, the LVA Pub Forum will be hosting a social media & online marketing seminar at 2.45pm with guest speaker Jeff Sheridan, managing director of Matrix Internet, ahead of the LVA Panel with Deirdre Devitt of The Two Sisters and Noel Anderson of The Bridge 1859.

At Technology Village, Adrian Valeriano, Vice President EMEA, Open Table, will get the afternoon going with a talk entitled "Trends in Technology and Dining Out" at 2pm before Andrew Keegan, Consultant Support Living Environmental Systems, takes over at 2.30 to talk about building energy controls and how they reduce your costs. This will be followed by GizaGig managing director Cathal Dolan's presentation on connecting venues with entertainment solutions and ideas at 3pm before WonderBars managing director Aidan Fitzsimons wraps things up by asking "How Bars Can Make Money Online?" at 3.30pm.

Additionally, Martin Potts of Synergy Prochef will be facilitating discussions with JJ Healy from Cork Institute of Technology and Ollie McDonnell from Synergy Bookkeeping about critical success factors for independent restaurants and a guide to understanding & measuring profit for your business, respectively, at the Synergy Prochef Forum from 2.30.
