Kilkenny's Bulter House Hotel Hosting Downton Abbey-Themed Dining Experience

Co. Kilkenny’s Butler House hotel is set to host a Downton Abbey-themed fine dining experience on the evening of Friday October 26.

Executive head chef Gerard Dunne will be showcasing his bespoke, five-course, and locally sourced, seasonal tasting menu on the evening while the venue will be filled with music and Downton décor to create a post-Edwardian era atmosphere.

On arrival, guests will be able to sample an 18th century inspired cocktail called the Butler House Sling and produced by award-winning mixologist, Chris Hennessy. There will also be some light entertainment throughout the evening, including a group dance lesson from choreographer Rachel Ellard of Vesper Dance Studios.

"Refined Ambiance" And "Decorative Surprises"

Commenting on the event, Butler House manager Deirdre Keating said, “We are very much looking forward to our Downton Abbey Night, taking place during Kilkenny’s Savour Festival.

“We hope our guests choose to come in the apparel of the day, but its optional, and we feel the refined ambiance of Butler House and decorative surprises we have planned will lend an atmosphere of bygone years and set the tone for an enchanting evening. We will also have a lovely little gift for our diners as they leave.”
