Killarney Hotels Most Expensive In Country

Killarney is the most expensive town in Ireland for a hotel room, according to the latest Hotels.com Hotel Price Index (HPI).

The Co. Kerry town trumped hotel prices in both Galway and Dublin, with the average room price in Killarney coming in at €107, an increase of 5%.

Galway hotel rooms were the next most expensive, with a room in the region costing €97, down 2%.

Dublin prices were up by 2%, hitting €93. Kilkenny also stood at €93 a night and Cork came in at €86.

The average price for a hotel room in Cork came in at €86, while rooms in Kilkenny and Dublin both hit an average of €93 a night. Dublin benefited from both hosting the EU presidency in the first half of the year as well as an upswing in the conferencing and events sector.

The HPI is a regular survey of hotel prices in major destinations across the world and is based on bookings made on Hotels.com. Prices shown are those that were actually paid by customers around the world, rather than advertised rates, during the first half of 2013.
