Loam Of Galway To Host Wine And Cheese Disco Nights

On Sunday October 21, the restaurant and wine bar at Loam of Galway turns Italian from 6pm until late for the first of two planned wine and cheese disco nights. The evening will get start with a sparkling Col Tamarie, a bottle refermented prosecco, accompanied by some Italian disco tunes from resident DJ, and Loam sous chef, Cian Mooney, or DJ Moonetti, as he will be known on the night.

Other wines on the evening will include an orange wine from the Demeter-certified biodynamic San Fereolo Coste di Riavolo and a red Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The complementing Italian cheeses will include a semi-soft taleggio, a gorgonzola and a pecorino. After 8 pm, the volume will get louder as the Italian disco tunes will take over the restaurant until late, and the wine bar will stay open.

Doing It All Over Again

In November, Loam will do it all over again, this time speaking fluent French for the evening of Sunday November 25. With a firm focus on fine French cheese and natural, biodynamic, organic or low-intervention French wines, Cian Mooney will don his beret and deliver smooth French Electro for the evening. The cheese and wine will again run from 6pm to 8pm, with music going on into the late hours.

Tickets for each event are €25 and include three tasting glasses and three cheeses, and are available from loamgalway.com.
