Lough Rynn Castle Scoops Manor House Award; Galway Hotel Wins Award For Hilarious 'Lonely Dog' Video

Lough Rynn Castle hotel in Co. Leitrim landed the most popular 'Manor House Hotel 2016' accolade at last night's Manor House Hotels of Ireland awards bash.

The 4-star Lough Rynn Castle in Mohill picked up the honour thanks its winning a Facebook poll of Likes, Comments and Shares, finishing ahead of the likes of Ballyseede Castle, Tralee, Co. Kerry and Knockranny House Hotel & Spa, Westport, Co. Mayo, reports the Leitrim Observer.

Organisers of the awards, Manor House Hotels/Irish Country Hotels, an organisation which comprises 55 member hotels on the island of Ireland, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.

"We’re absolutely delighted to have won this award. It’s even more special to us because of the direct engagement of clients and friends on Facebook who wanted us to win," said Ruth Conlon of Lough Rynn Castle Hotel. "It’s a great recognition of the team effort that goes into running the hotel. Excellence doesn’t happen by chance and it’s a collective effort that makes a visit or stay at our hotel so special for so many people."

Meanwhile, Connemara hotel Lough Inagh Lodge picked up its own award last night thanks to a bit of clever marketing in the shape of its hilarious promotional video entitled 'The Lonely Dog of Inagh'.  The hotel won the award for Funniest Manor House Hotels & Irish Country Hotels Video.
