The Lucky Duck Bar & Restaurant Opens On Dublin's Aungier St.

Friday April 27 saw the opening of The Lucky Duck bar and restaurant at 43 Aungier Street in Dublin. Located in a protected structure that was originally plotted in 1756 as part of the Aungier Estate, the current Victorian red brick building dates from 1837 and had previously been vacant for over 20 years.

After a year of restoration, the building's new bar and restaurant will offer a dinner menu featuring seasonal and modern food, a selection of on-tap beers and a range of cocktails. The ground floor features a traditional Victorian style pub with a terrace area to the rear and walls lined with archived streetscape photographs. The pub will be open from 12 noon seven days a week and also offer an array of toasties., inlcuding honey glazed ham & cheese, grilled Mediterranean vegetables & brie, and roast beef & red onion jam.

The Reilly Room on the first floor features a small cocktail bar and an open fire, while the Digges Room plays host to a cocktail bar with seating for up to 25 and Clarke’s Bar boasts a cosy snug surrounding a fireplace, with a hatch into the adjoining bar.

The three upper floors will be open from 5pm seven days a week and also offer a dinner menu presided over by head chef Stephen Ryan, who will be celebrating traditional Irish fare with a modern twist.
