Michelin Award Seven New Bib Gourmands To Irish Restaurants
Ireland's more casual restaurants have today (29 September) been celebrated by Michelin Guide UK with the announcement of new Bib Gourmands.

Irish restaurants have performed well with seven new Bib Gourmands, spread throughout the country.

Bib Gourmands are given to restaurants which offer both high-quality food and good value for money and the restaurants which achieve them do not necessarily have to offer the same level of service that those winning a star would be expected to.

In Dublin, the Portobello-based Richmond Restaurant has gained a bib thanks to the contemporary cooking from head chef David O'Byrne, as has two of the other hottest tickets in the capital: Bastible and Craft Restaurant.

John and Sandy Wyer's Forest & Marcy also gained the accolade, while in Kildare, the TwoCooks restaurant in Sallins has received rave reviews since opening and can now celebrate a bib, while Jess Murphy's ever-popular Kai Cafe + Restaurant in Galway is doing likewise.

Elsewhere, Morrisseys in Doonbeg is Munster's sole new bib this year, while in Northern Ireland, Holywood restaurant Noble has been awarded the prestigious honour.
