Morrisons Hotel To Reopen In January

The Morrison in Dublin's city centre is set to become a 'DoubleTree' hotel, following an agreement between Hilton Worldwide and Martinez Hotels & Resorts. Following an extensive €7m refurbishment, commenced when Russian billionaire Elana Baturina bought the hotel from NAMA, the Morrison will open its doors as 'The Morrison Dublin, a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel' on 11 February. Patrick Fitzgibbon of Hilton Worldwide says: “DoubleTree by Hilton is one of the fastest growing upscale hotel brands in Europe and we are confident it will be a hit here in Ireland. We’ve been eager to secure the right opportunity and believe we’ve found it in The Morrison. This deal is also indicative of a renewed buoyancy in the Irish hospitality market, visible both in the strong performance of our existing portfolio and the confidence of owners and developers to invest.” The hotel now has a music theme and will feature two restaurants and a bar. Guests will enjoy access to a 24-hour business zone and a split-level fitness centre. 410 square metres of events space provides capacity for up to 240 guests.
