New Bar And Restaurant Open At Slane Castle

Co. Meath's Slane Castle has opened two new public food and drink facilities on site entitled Browne's Bar and the Gandon Room Restaurant, respectively, both of which are run by Fitzers Catering.

The Irish Times reports that the former venue is so-called due its location in the part of the castle once occupied by housekeeper Mary Browne and is decorated with items that pay tribute to the multitude of musicians who have performed live on the castle's grounds.

The restaurant, on the other hand, is named after one of the building's three lead architects, James Gandon, and is presided over by head chef Catherine James Budriene.

Browne's Bar will be open from 10.30am daily, with closing times of 8.30pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 11.30pm between Thursday and Saturday, while the Gandon Room Restaurant will open for dinner from Thursday to Saturday each week and lunch every Sunday.
