Passenger Numbers Increase 4% At Cork Airport In November 2017

Data released today (5 December) reveals that the number of passengers that passed through Cork Airport in November rose 4% from 146,000 to 152,000, compared to the same month last year.

Representatives of the airport highlighted the significance of these figures in the face of CSO statistics that showing a 6% drop in the number of British visitors to Ireland alongside a 16.4% rise in North American travelers during the period between January and October of 2017, as reported by The Irish Times.

Commenting on how Cork Airport has "Brexit-proofed" its business, managing director Niall McCarthy said, "With the launch of Cork's first year-round transatlantic route this summer with Norwegian, as well as significant European additions with new airline partners in Swiss, Iberia Express and Volotea, Cork Airport is actively pursuing growth."
