Permission Granted To Refurbish Landmark Dublin Coffee Kiosk

Following on from last year's news that the brothers behind the Starbucks operation in Ireland, Colum and Ciarán Butler, had acquired the hexagon-shaped coffee kiosk at the centre of Ballsbridge, Dublin, it's now been announced that permission has been granted to give the kiosk a complete overhaul.

Having purchased the 4.15 square metre property for €330,000 in the summer of 2017, the Butler brothers proceeded to apply for planning permission via their Plassu Unlimited firm in November to revamp the kiosk by repairing its roof tiles, restoring its window frames and adding timber cladding.

After the planner assigned to the case declared that the proposal was acceptable, Dublin City Council gave the plans the green light subject to six undisclosed planning conditions.
