Permission Sought To Develop 177-Bedroom Hotel At Killeen Castle

Developer Joe O'Reilly has applied for planning permission to develop a 177-bedroom hotel on the grounds of Killeen Castle in Co. Meath.

According to The Irish Independent, O'Reilly's proposal involves the construction of a new building to house 160 of the hotel's 177 bedrooms, while the remaining 17 would be located within the castle itself, alongside a bar and dining facilities.

The structure housing the 160 bedrooms would also feature a day spa, swimming pool, winter garden restaurant, function room and pre-function area, with the complete hotel development being expected to encompass an area of 15,152 square metres upon the combination of the new structure and existing castle.

If approved, the new hotel would be complemented by Killeen Castle's Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, which served as the site of the 12th Solheim Cup in 2011.
