Positive Year For Conrad Dublin As Profits More Than Double
The five-star Conrad Dublin hotel has seen its pre-tax profits more than double to €2.28 million last year.
Newly-filed accounts for the 192-bedroom hotel, which underwent a €13 million refurbishment that lasted ten months, show an increase in revenue of 18 per cent from €12.95 million to €15.25 million, reports The Irish Examiner.
Its refurbishment consisted of new designs for each of its 192-bedrooms and suites, a new brasserie-style restaurant called The Coburg as well as a lounge and cocktail bar called Lemuel's.
The Conrad also saw its operating profits increase to €3 million, staff numbers grow from 154 to 160 and staff costs rise from €4.79 to over €5 million. The hotel refurbishment, which saw its book value increase from €20.7 million to €21.16 million, was designed to "reflect some of Dublin’s fine geographical, historic, and cultural touchpoints" according to general manager Martin Mangan.
