New Bar Opens In Belfast
A new bar will open in Belfast today (Friday July 2) following an investment of £250,000.
As reported by The Belfast Telegraph, the new bar, which is called Haymarket, has taken over the former Hudson Bar site on Belfast's Gresham Street, and is being run by Michael Stewart, who was formerly a director of The Hudson Bar.
The new venue is reportedly creating approximately 50 new jobs and will serve street food "including loaded fries, nachos, pizzas, burgers and vegan dishes".
The new venue reportedly includes an outdoor arcade for outdoors dining, areas that can be booked for celebrations or corporate meetings, and a gin bar.
The Belfast Telegraph quotes Stewart as saying, "We are thrilled to bring a new and exciting offering to Belfast, which reinforces the hospitality sector's determination and commitment to bounce back from the pandemic.
"Entering from Royal Avenue we have started the transformation of an iconic building, which was a Haymarket from the end of the 19th century.
"We are delighted to be part of Belfast’s regeneration for the next generation, and all of us who aren't quite old enough to remember the Haymarket but have watched Belfast grow and evolve."
