Restaurateur John Farrell Plans To Open Three New Dublin Restaurants

Restaurateur John Farrell has plans to open a new 4,000 square foot restaurant on Camden Street in Dublin, a "refined, rustic cooking" BBQ-style restaurant in Stoneybatter and "possibly [an Asian restaurant] on Capel Street" on city's northside this year.

Farrell boasts a restaurant portfolio that includes Dillinger's in Ranelagh; contemporary Mexican restaurant 777; and Luna which was named Ireland's best restaurant in May.

The Stoneybatter project has a planned opening date of late spring or early summer and will be in partner with chef Keelan Higgs, formerly co-owner of Locks 1 Windsor Terrace in Portobello, who is currently working at Luna, reports thetaste.ie.

It will serve dishes such as sourdough, with homemade cultured butter, crispy bacon and potato; bone marrow with toast, braised oxtail, smoked onions, crispy shallots and truffle; as well as flank steak, with burnt shallots, tomatoes, confit garlic, red-eye gravy, and cornbread.

Farrell's Capel Street restaurant will be "like taking a trip around Asia" with plans to serve two dishes from different regions and for it to be "just good food, fun, and good music".
