River Lee Takes Orders For Chinese

The River Lee Hotel in Cork has launched a new Chinese version of its website with the aim of increasing guest numbers to the hotel from the rapidly expanding Chinese tourism market.

Reservations with the hotel from China rose twelve-fold in 2012 when compared to 2011 and web analytics show increasing interest in the hotel from China. Guests from China to stay at the hotel in 2012 included delegates at an international conference on sports tourism which included members of the Beijing Olympic organising committee and guests of the Asian Studies Department of University College Cork, who hosted their annual conference there.

Chinese guests to the hotel have to date travelled mainly with leisure groups visiting Ireland as part of an organised tour. The new site aims to provide content suitable for the travel trade in China, who organise such groups, rather than individual travellers.
