Ryanair Experiences Record-Breaking July
In the wake of warnings that its UK flights could be grounded post-Brexit, Ryanair has released statistics revealing that it experienced a record-breaking July, becoming the first EU airline to carry one billion passengers.
The data shows that Ryanair customer numbers increased by 11% from July 2016's 11.3 million to 12.6 million, while load factor rose by 1% to 97% and rolling annual traffic to July grew 13% to 125.1m customers.
Commenting on the statistics, Ryanair’s chief marketing office, Kenny Jacobs stated, “July was a record month for Ryanair, as we became the first European airline to carry over 12 million customers in a single month...We [also] celebrated carrying our one billionth customer since our first flight in 1985 and became the first EU airline to carry over 1 billion passengers. To mark the occasion we are launching a ‘Thanks a Billion’ seat sale, with fares slashed on over one million seats across our European network for travel in November and December.”
