Ryanair Promises To Bring 1 Million Passengers To Irish Airports Next Year

As Ryanair Expands it services, the company pledges to bring an extra 1 million passengers to Ireland's airports in 2014.

The airline group made this decision after the removal of travel tax in budget 2014. It will divide the growth between Dublin, Cork, Knock, Kerry and Shannon airport.

Ryanair promise that the new expansion will encourage 500,000 extra tourists in Ireland each year.

It is said that services between Ireland and Britain will prosper from the growth.

Michael Cawley, Ryanair's chief operating officer said they would have an extra four aircrafts from April 2014 to meet the growth plans.

He also added that there will be up to 200 extra Ryanair jobs in Ireland. This should include extra jobs in the tourism industry.

Ryanair's announcement was approved by the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA): "We are fully supportive of any airline that plans to grow in the Irish market," said a DAA spokesman to Irish Independent.
