Pat and Una McDonagh, founding directors of Irish fast food chain Supermac's, have opened a service station and food court in Tipperary, investing €6 million in the project.

The new site, called Tipperary Town Plaza, will feature a number of food outlets such as delicatessen Mac’s Place, Papa John’s Pizza, SuperSubs and Bewley’s, as well as other amenities.

The new development will, according to businessandleadership.com, employ over 80 people from the local area. A further 75 people were hired during the construction phase of the project.

Speaking about developing in Tipperary, founder Pat McDonagh said: “The very first Supermac’s franchise opened in the historical town of Thurles 30 years ago while in the past three years we have opened Supermac’s in Clonmel and the Barack Obama Plaza in Moneygall.”

Supermac's, which also operates the Papa John's Pizza brand in Ireland as well as SuperSubs and Mac's Place, employs over 3,000 people across the country in its 100-plus outlets.
