Tetrarch To Redevelop Howth's Deer Park Hotel

Irish investment group Tetrarch has agreed to a deal in principle to purchase 470 acres of land in the Dublin suburb of Howth which includes the Deer Park Hotel and golf courses as well as Howth castle.

According to The Irish Times, the sale is subject to Tetrarch agreeing legally-binding contracts with the land's current owners, the Gaisford-St Lawrence family, and completing due diligence.

Tetrarch intends to redevelop the Deer Park Hotel as a luxury property and transform the adjacent golf courses. Howth castle and demesne, meanwhile, includes a cookery school as well as walled gardens, heathland and woodlands.

"Exciting Plans"

Commenting on the company's plans for the estate, Tetrarch chief executive Michael McElligott said, "We intend to progress with our very exciting plans for the redevelopment of the former Deer Park Hotel and golf courses, subject to receipt of the necessary planning permissions.

"Tetrarch’s track record working on significant projects requiring planning, redevelopment, and strong asset and operational management skills would ensure that we are able to realise the significant potential that Howth castle and demesne offers."
