Following the news that Co. Kerry's Sheen Falls Lodge was named the "No. 3 Top Resort Hotel in UK & Ireland' by Travel & Leisure readers last month, the American travel magazine has now placed three Irish venues on its list of the "Top 15 Resort Hotels in Europe".
As reported by The Irish Independent, Ballyfin House in Co. Laois was Ireland's highest ranking resort on the list, taking the number four spot, with Ashford Castle in Mayo coming in at number six and the aforementioned Sheen Falls Lodge being ranked as number 11.
Travel & Leisure is one of the world's most influential travel magazines, with close to one million hardcopy subscribers, meaning that the above accolades mark a major victory for Irish tourism.
