Trivago Names Its Best Hotels In Ireland

Hotel price comparison site trivago has named the best hotels in Ireland for 2017, according to online ratings from 175 million customers.

The hotel awards are split into eight categories, which saw Killeen House win best three-star hotel and guest service; Harvey's Point best four-star and guest rooms; The Merrion best five-star; Ariel House winning best breakfast; Avlon House in Carlow named best value-for-money; and best B&B going to The Tides Guesthouse.

Reviews are aggregated from over 34 different websites worldwide which ensures the awards are "accurate, comprehensive and impartial", reports The Irish Examiner.

"This gives us strong insights into what hotels are particularly good at. Our trivago awards recognise those hoteliers who deliver an exceptional experience to their guests, and we are proud and delighted to award those achievements," said Johannes Thomas, managing director at trivago.

Roger Kündig, sales and marketing manager at Harvey's Point commented: "We [make every guest feel welcome] by providing luxury accommodation, gourmet food, many ‘little extras’ and most of all, by personally engaging with everyone who visits us."

Michael and Geraldine Rosney of Killeen House say that their success is down to their guests, adding, "It is them and them alone who have decided that we are worthy of this wonderful recognition and for that we are truly thankful."

David Walsh, owner of The Tides Guesthouse, commented, "we strive to make our guests feel at home and enjoy every aspect of their stay", while Tom Donagher, owner of Avlon House added that "It is important to us in a busy world that guest’s quality leisure time is respected at all times, offering advice on request and privacy, tranquillity and peace as standard."
