Tullamore Dew Releases Short Film

The popular Irish whiskey, Tullamore Dew, has released a new short film this week called "The Parting Glass"The film follows a group of young suited friends walking through the Irish countryside in the rain to a graveyard. There, they raise a glass of the whiskey to a friend who we presume is dead but there's a clever twist at the end.

The song "The Parting Glass," a Scottish and Irish traditional song often sung at the end of a gathering, is heard throughout the film.

As the men march up the hill, they quote James Joyce: "Better pass boldly into that other world, in the full glory of some passion, than fade and wither dismally with age."

The headline in AdAge reads "Tullamore Dew Short Should Be Envy of Booze Ads" while Creativity Online dubbed it as "The Alcohol Ad That All Alcohol Ads Should Aspire To."

The film was created by Opperman Weiss and directed by Laurence Dunmore.
