Two Dublin Pubs Listed Among 'World's Most Interesting Bars'

Two pubs in Dublin have made it into a new global directory that highlights some of the world's most intriguing drinking venues.

Dublinlive.ie reports that Bowe's of Fleet Street and Mulligan's of Stoneybatter have earned the distinction of being the only Irish venues featured in 'Straight Up: The Insiders' Guide to the World's Most Interesting Bars and Drinking Experiences'.

Describing Bowe's as "The Emerald of Ireland", the book recommends the Temple Bar pub for a pint of Guinness, saying it "imbues a sense of Irish hospitality into the wonderful surroundings of a traditional Victorian-style Irish boozer."

Meanwhile, Mulligan's is mentioned as being a hotspot for whiskey lovers where "your whiskey may have an alternative serve available - incorporating different foods (sometimes ice-cream, candy floss or popsicles) as well as different beers, Kombuca tea and locally roasted coast."

Written by Joel Harrsion and Neil Ridley, Straight Up: The Insiders' Guide to the World's Most Interesting Bars and Drinking Experiences also asserts that hipster cocktails offered by The Dean Hotel, such as bacon-infused Bulleit bourbon and Guinness-infused Cuban Espresso, have afforded Dublin's pub scene an extra sense of sophistication.
