Wine Australia To Host Australia Day Tasting Event In Dublin January 29

With a geographical size similar to Europe and a large number of distinct climates, soils and terroirs, it’s no surprise that Australia boasts an array of grape varieties, wine styles and flavours. To help the trade explore the diversity of Australian wine, Wine Australia is running its annual Australia Day Tasting in Dublin on January 29.

Taking place at The Mansion House, this new bigger venue means there’ll be even more wines, producers and visitors than last year’s event. There will be over 300 wines from 54 wineries across Australia. Some of the producers may be familiar names like De Bortoli, Petaluma and Yering Station, others will be new discoveries such as Howard Park, Route du Van and Voyager Estate that are seeking distribution. 10 wineries at the tasting aren’t yet in the Irish market.

The event gives the wine trade and media the opportunity to meet the people behind the wines, hear their stories and try a diverse, exciting range of Australian wine. Guests can also discover new varieties and styles, taste new releases, and learn about emerging trends. Winemakers and winery owners flying over for the event include Chris Pfeiffer (Pfeiffer Wines), Trevor Dickinson (Dickinson Estate Wines) and Andrew Watson (Woodlands Wines).

New to the 2018 event is a Focus Table on Iconic Australia. From fresh Hunter Valley Semillon to rich Rutherglen fortifieds, this area will give visitors a taste of Australia’s most enduring and iconic wine styles.

The even will take place from 1pm – 6pm on January 29 in The Round Room at The Mansion House on Dublin's Dawson Street. Registration is now open via www.bit.ly/DublinADT18 or email [email protected].
