Woman Stable After Crush Outside Dublin Nightclub

The condition of the girl injured during crowd issues outside a popular Dublin nightclub has improved.

Niamh Cannon (18) seemingly came into difficulties when a swell of people combined outside Copper Face Jack's on Camden Street earlier in the week. The incident has led the Gardaí to plan a review of queuing arrangements outside Dublin nightclubs.

Gardaí are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which happened as a reported 1,500 people queued to enter the Harcourt Street premises. The popular nightclub was operating a lower than usual age policy for the once off “Messy Monday” promotion.

As reported in the Irish Independent, "A large group of revellers, who had approached the club from Camden Place, converged with others arriving from both ends of Harcourt Street about 10 minutes before midnight. This resulted in congestion outside the club and a sudden surge in the laneway led to Ms Cannon and others falling to the ground." A separate door into the club was opened and people let in to relieve the pressure.
