Entries Open For Irish Whiskey Awards 2017

Entries are now being accepted for this year’s Irish Whiskey Awards, which will be held at the newly refurbished Jameson Distillery, Bow Street, Dublin 7 on Thursday October 19, 2017. The awards, which are now in their fifth year, span a total of 20 categories and recognize the established and emerging producers within the industry.

The closing date for all entries is Tuesday August 1 and entry forms are available from the Celtic Whiskey Shop as well as on www.irishwhiskeyawards.com. As in previous years, members of the Celtic Whiskey Club and the Irish Whiskey Society will judge all whiskeys, with members of the trade being responsible for judging the white spirit categories of Gin, Vodka and Poitin in a separate tasting session.

The blind tasting judging sessions will take place in Lillies Bordello, off Grafton Street, over the weekends of Saturday August 26, Saturday September 2 and Saturday September 9. Overseas members of the Celtic Whiskey Club will also have the chance to purchase sample packs and vote without having to travel to Ireland.

Celtic Whiskey Shop will be working with its charity partner, Mary’s Meals, and all proceeds from the awards night will go towards helping feed children in impoverished areas of the world.
