Get A Taste Of Febvreuary

When Febvre wine company introduced Febvreuary - a month of wine discovery - it immediately caused a stir in the industry.

Kicking-off this week and running until the end of the month, there's plenty of keep wine aficionados happy at the event, with many important visitors including wine-makers, food experts, and even the French rugby visiting Ireland in the coming weeks. 

Febvreuary is open to the trade or by invitation. As the end of the first week of activities approaches, the programme has delivered on its promise so far.

While it started in Drury Buildings in Dublin, where a portfolio tasting of the Febvre range took place, Febvre personnel will be bringing the event around Ireland in the coming weeks.

The educational programmes with Noel MacMahon, Febvre wine educator, were very well attended in Dublin.

This was followed by training with David Boxall from Bermar (Le Verre de Vin), who went through the essential ingredients needed to create and maintain a professional and profitable wine by the glass service.

Tomás Clancy hosted a Warre’s Port and Stickies Master Class, well-known Austrian winemaker and Nicki Moser led a Master Class in Understanding Wine Biodynamics With still three weeks to run, there is still many highlights to come.

February 9Drury Buildings, 55 Drury Street, Dublin 2 Meet the French – a guided journey through France, 11.00am–12.00pm

Several French visiting winemakers will host a small professional tasting. This will be a tutored tasting with small groups working their way around the room to engage with each producer. The producers include: Etienne Defosse, Champagne Deutz & Delas Freres, Rhône Valley; Clare Burke, Ets. Jean Pierre Moueix, Bordeaux; Jean-Philippe Archambaud, Maison Simmonet-Febvre, Chablis; Laurent Chevalier, Henry Fessy, Beaujolais; Pascal Shiel, Gustave Lorentz, Alsace and Arnaud Irigaray, Francois Lurton, Languedoc Roussillon.
