Lebanese Wine Tasting Comes To Dublin

Ireland’s first tutored tasting of Lebanese wine is set to take place on October 26 in On the Grapevine, in Dalkey, Co. Dublin.

The event, part of a global initiative, has seen Michael Karam, the author of the award-winning Wines of Lebanon, show Lebanese wines at tastings and dinners in the Far East, the US and Europe over the past two years.

The tasting will be open to the media and business visitors in the afternoon and consumers in the evening. A white and a red will be presented from each of the six participating producers: Château Kefraya, Château Ksara, Château St Thomas, Domaine des Tourelles, Domaine Wardy, and Ixsir. Some of Lebanon's most exciting blends will be included, such as the ancient Obeideh and Lebanon’s first old vine, Cinsault.

“These wines are really special, with a great back story and made with exciting varieties, so I’m hoping that we can make a real impact, especially in the independents and the on-trade,” Michael Karam said.
