Alistair Birt, head chocolatier from William Curley, will represent the UK and Ireland in the World Chocolate Masters in Paris after winning the UK and Ireland pre-selection.
Birt wowed the judges with his innovative culinary talent around the theme “Inspiration from Nature”. The Masters, an initiative of Cacao Barry, will take place in Paris, France in October.
The international competition is dedicated solely to the art of chocolate. It demands from competitors huge amounts of concentration, nerve and expertise during the day long competition, as each is required to create one chocolate showpiece, one moulded praline, and a patisserie of the day.
“Inspiration from Nature” is also the new theme for the World Chocolate Masters final taking place in Paris in October 2015, that is set to inspire Alistair along with the worlds best Chocolatiers and Patissiers.
