Aramark Showcases Cork Food Producers At Cork Airport

Aramark Ireland is showcasing local artisan food producers at its Kinsale Café Bar and Food Republic restaurant at Cork Airport, bringing such products as Gubbeen Chorizo, Ardsallagh Cheese and Ballycotten Smoked Salmon to over 3.3 million passengers every year.

Aramark Head Chef David Magee asserted, “Cork food producers are among the best in the world and we are delighted to partner with them at our locations at Cork Airport. We’ve developed a menu that reflects Cork’s position as the gourmet capital of Ireland. The quality and provenance is first class and gets a great reaction from Irish and international passengers travelling through the airport for each journey. Our focus on local suppliers is unique and gives passengers a really special dedicated experience”.

Magee continued, “Badger & Dodo is a fabulous artisan coffee that tastes fantastic. Flahavan’s porridge oatlets are also very popular for breakfast which reflects the trend towards healthier eating and we’ve concentrated on local produce from Follain Jams from Ballyvourney, Hassetts from Carraigaline, Carrolls of Tullamore and Clonakilty Puddings. We’ve created a space where people can sit, enjoy fresh, locally produced foods and relax before they board their plane.

“As a chef, I get great satisfaction from working with fresh, local produce and from the very positive response to the foods we serve our passengers. It is a privilege for us at Aramark to help showcase these producers to thousands of people passing through Cork Airport every day,”
