Urban Picnic Returning To Clondalkin In August

South Dublin County Council has announced that outdoor food and craft markets will return to Corkagh Park for 2023.

Urban Picnic will include street food, crafts, artisan produce and live entertainment.

Intercultural Food And Craft

This year’s markets will launch with an Intercultural Food and Craft event on Sunday 27 August. This event will have a wide variety of global food, craft, entertainment, and family activities.

The Intercultural Food and Craft event is being supported by South Dublin County Council’s Community Department.

'Various Cultures'

“The Outdoor Markets provide communities the opportunity to enjoy food and craft in a relaxed environment in our parks," said Joe Lumumba, administrative officer.

"The Intercultural Food and Craft event will afford members of the local community the prospect of sampling food from various cultures.”

Local Producers

South Dublin County Council said the markets will promote local enterprise and develop a sense of community by utilising where possible local producers and crafts people, including Local Enterprise Office South Dublin (LEO) start-up clients.

"Corkagh Park is a beautiful location, and the markets add a vibrancy and dynamic that has been highly regarded in previous years," said Cllr Alan Edge, Mayor of South Dublin County Council.

"I encourage the local communities to come along to support and experience all these markets have to offer.”

Corkagh Park

Urban Picnic is returning to Corkagh Park in Clondalkin on Sunday the 27 August, and will operate from 11am to 5pm each Sunday up to 15 October.

It will be located near the playground in the park, visible from the car park at St. John’s Entrance.
