Avolon Orders Boeing Dreamliners

Dublin based aircraft leasing firm Avolon plans to spend over €1 billion purchasing six Dreamliners from US based Boeing.

The company announced the deal at the Farnborough air show, which is held every two years and is the world's biggest aerospace show.

Avolon has recently been on a purchasing spree of Boeing aircraft, with 20 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft already on order. This latest order brings their total orders from Boeing to over €2.2 billion.

Avolon supplies aircraft to airlines around the world and owns 116 aircraft, manages a 12 and has a further 79 on order. The company is currently planning a flotation on the New York stock market.

Dómhnal Slattery, chief exective officer of Avolon said that the recent deals "reflects our commitment to our customers to have a product offering built around the latest and most technically advanced aircraft available in the market."
