Dún Laoghaire To Host 2018 Laser Master World Championships

Dublin will play host to one of the world's most illustrious sailing events next year when the Laser Masters World Championships descend upon Dún Laoghaire harbour in the autumn of 2018.

As reported by The Dublin People, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport Shane Ross stated that the "event will showcase Dún Laoghaire Harbour on the international sailing stage. With up to 500 competitors from 40 nations competing in the Championships, this will generate significant revenues for the local economy and great exposure for Ireland."

This will mark the second time in three years that Dún Laoghaire has hosted a major sailing tournament after the KBC Laser Radial Worlds were held in the town's harbour in 2016.

The event is supported by Fáilte Ireland and Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and will take place between September 7 and 15, 2018.
