Dunboyne College Announces Arrival Of New Commercial Kitchen

Dunboyne College has announced the arrival of its new state-of-the-art commercial kitchen. 2018/19 students will have the opportunity to work in energetic and creative kitchen surroundings. Skills are fostered through practical and theoretical modules such as Culinary Techniques, Pastry, Baking and Desserts, Menu Planning and Applied Nutrition, Food Science, Meal Service and International Cuisines.

This course equips students with the skills needed to gain employment in the food and hospitality sector and/or to progress to third level education. DCFE has strong links with DIT School of Culinary Arts and Food Technology, and throughout the year students will have the opportunity to hear expert guest speakers, watch masterclasses, go on field trips and gain extra qualifications.

Classes are delivered by teachers with long experience of the food and catering business, and are offered at QQI levels 5 and 6. DCFE has a strong track record of success with this course, with the vast majority of students progressing either to third level or entering the workforce. The course is normally covered in one academic year, but can be taken over 2 years to facilitate students who are currently working.
