Eighth Annual Culture Night Tonight

Tonight marks the eighth annual Culture Night across the country with hotels, pubs and cultural organizations in 34 regions, towns and cities playing host to a variety of free cultural and artistic events.

Culture Night was launched last month by Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan who said it "provides a terrific opportunity for families to sample aspects of Irish Culture and Heritage which might be new to them.

"The National Cultural institutions all remain open late for this night. It is all about participation and celebrating and becoming familiar with our own culture and venues, which are on our doorstep but some of which we may never have visited previously."

Brooks Hotel, Bewley's, The Church Bar, Club Conradh an Gaeilge are just some of the pubs and hotels hosting events in the capital tonight, while Langton's in Kilkenny, the Cornstore in Galway and Cork City's Pavillion will also be taking part.
