Fáilte Ireland Incentivising North American Buyers To Sell Ireland To Clients

A group of hand-picked influential North American corporate and incentive buyers arrived in Ireland this week to experience some of the world class facilities available across the country with a view to selling Ireland to their clients for 2017 and beyond.

The buyers are being hosted by Fáilte Ireland for a five day fact-finding trip in conjunction with Tourism Ireland.

The buyers, who arrived into Shannon Airport, had the chance to carry out a number of site inspections at key venues across the country, including Adare Manor (pictured) in Co. Limerick, the Killarney Park and Europe hotels in Co. Kerry, The K Club in Co. Kildare and The Shelbourne in Dublin. They also sampled some of the attractions and experiences that await their clients should they choose Ireland, such as whiskey tasting, bódhrán lessons and Gaelic games.

In Dublin, the buyers were hosted by the city's Lord Mayor Brendan Carr at a special reception in the Mansion House.

Head of Business Tourism & Events for Fáilte Ireland, Ciara Gallagher, explained:"Corporate and incentive meetings offer Ireland a great opportunity to attract high value visitors to the country. We are delighted to have been able to host some of North America’s most significant buyers and let them sample our offering for such an extended period of time as it allowed us to ensure they experienced all that we have to offer their clients in Dublin and at key locations across the country."

This is just one of a number of targeted fact-finding trips Fáilte Ireland, in conjunction with Tourism Ireland, has planned under the Meet in Ireland brand for 2017. A number of visits, targeting key buyers in France, Germany and the UK, are scheduled in the coming weeks, with the view to delivering even more corporate and incentive visitors to our shores for many years to come.
