Fáilte Ireland Secures Three More Conferences for Dublin

Fáilte Ireland has announced that three major conferences will be held in Dublin in the next few years, adding to the four already won by the Conference Ambassador Scheme.

The conference wins secure a total of 1,400 delegates to arrive in the city, worth €2 million to the Irish economy. Fáilte Ireland announced last month that four major conferences had been won through the scheme, with a further four to be announced.

The programme, under the 'Meet in Ireland' brand, is designed to give financial and practical support to individuals considering Ireland as a destination for their association meeting.

The three new wins, along with the the amount of delegates expected, are:

Fire Safety for All in Buildings Conference, April 2016, 200 delegates Life Cycle Assessment of Foods Conference, October 2016, 450 delegates International Network of Basin Organisations European Conference on the Water Framework Directive, November 2017, 750 delegates Fáilte Ireland's Business Tourism Team today targeted a revenue increase of eight per cent for 2015, up to €61.5 million. Currently 218 international conferences are being bid on by the team, with a potential value of €302 million.
