Fáilte Ireland Workshop Encourages UK Inbound Operators To Sell Ireland To Overseas Markets

A group of almost 20 top UK Inbound travel organisers were in Ireland this week meeting with almost 60 Irish operators to find out what Ireland can offer their customers in the months ahead. The meetings are took place at the Radisson Blu Sligo on Wednesday October 25 at one of Fáilte Ireland’s annual sales workshops which is organised in conjunction with Tourism Ireland.

The operators all represent the UK inbound market and focus on attracting visitors from across the world into the UK and Ireland. This year, a number of the operators are experiencing Ireland for the first time with a view to including them in their sales programme for the first time.

As well as attracting more visitors into Ireland, the workshop was designed to provide Irish businesses with a time and cost effective opportunity to sell their offering to a number of interested and influential travel organisers at a series of one-to-one sales meetings.

Speaking at the workshop, Ciara Sugrue, Head of Trade and Promotions, Fáilte Ireland said, “These influential tour operators represent a great opportunity for Ireland to attract more tourists from some of our key overseas markets. The recent drop in sterling has made the UK an attractive destination for many overseas visitors and by targeting these operators we can ensure that Ireland has the chance to reap some of these benefits.”
