Co. Antrim's Hilden Brewery has been named as the winner of the inaugural Craft Beer Cup, held as part of the International Craft Brewing and Distilling Convention in Dublin at the weekend.
Around 100 beers entered into the contest in eight different categories of beer at the event, which was hosted by Alltech at the Convention Centre Dublin. Hilden brewery won for its Hilden Twisted Hop product.
Elsewhere at the Convention, Alltech founder Dr. Pearse Lyons presented two special brewing and distilling awards. Bill Owens was awarded the Lifetime Achievement in Craft Distilling Award and Professor Graham Stewart received the Award for Outstanding Service in Brewing and Distilling Education.
The event also played host to a entrepreneurship seminar, featuring speakers such as Professor Damien McLoughlin, Declan Coyle, Andec Communications and Catherine Keogh, Chief Marketing Officer at Alltech.
