International Travel Writers’ Conference To Return Next Year

Ireland has been confirmed as the venue for the Travel Classics International writers’ conference in 2017.

Regarded by many as the world’s foremost networking event for travel writers and editors, it’s a major coup for Irish tourism that the 2017 conference will take place in Ireland. It will bring together celebrated editors from a wide range of high profile publications, including titles like Condé Nast Traveler, National Geographic Traveler and Harper’s Bazaar, all of which reach hundreds of thousands of readers globally.

The 2017 conference will take place in Ireland’s Ancient East over four days, during which numerous American freelance travel writers will have the opportunity to hold individual meetings with assigning editors from the top travel, epicurean and lifestyle publications in the US.

Alison Metcalfe, Tourism Ireland’s Head of North America, said: "We are delighted that the Travel Classics International conference will return to Ireland in 2017. With some of the most influential and prominent American travel and lifestyle journalists likely to attend, it will be a superb opportunity to show them at first-hand what makes Ireland unique. It will bring huge exposure of what Ireland has to offer American holidaymakers, through the media in this important tourism market."

The Travel Classics International writers’ conference has taken place around the island of Ireland previously – at Ballymaloe House in Co Cork (2013), Conrad Dublin (2011), Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast (2009), g Hotel in Galway (2007) and the Park Hotel Kenmare (2005).
