Ireland One Of The Most Expensive Countries For Holidaymakers

Ireland continues to be one of the most expensive countries for holidaymakers, an international study by the World Economic Forum has found. While Ireland's safety, environmental sustainability and infrastructure credentials helped it to score well in overall tourism competiveness (19th place worldwide), high prices for fuel, airport charges, ticket taxes and hotel accommodation mean that the country ranks in just 115th place out of 140 countries on price competitiveness. The World Economic Forum ranked Switzerland number one in the world for tourism competitiveness.
