Irish Welcome Tours Snapped Up By UK Tourist Operator

It is being reported that Irish Welcome Tours (IWT) has been bought by UK tourist operator Hotels & More in a deal worth in the region of €20 million.

The Irish Independent reports that IWT will continue to be managed independently by John Waldron, who believes that the partnership will open new doors for IWT into the UK market.

IWT is owned by Michael Holland, who can count the five-star Fitzwilliam Hotel on St Stephen's Green in Dublin as one of his hospitality assets, alongside the The Bailey pub.

According to the most recently filed accounts for IWT parent company Ampleforth, the company has sales of €36.5m in 2015 and a profit of €3.6m.
