Lufthansa Group Welcomes 2.9% More Passengers In August 2019
The Lufthansa Group airlines welcomed more than 14.1 million passengers in August this year.
This is an increase of 2.9%, the group said, when compared to August of last year.
The group said that its available seat kilometres, a measure of passenger carrying capacity, was up by 1.8% over the previous year.
In addition to this, sales also increased by 2.7%.
The Network Airlines, which includes Lufthansa German Airlines, SWISS and Austrian Airlines, carried around 10.2 million passengers in August, a 3.3% increase on the prior-year period.
Compared to the previous year, the available seat kilometres increased by 3.1% in August.
Lufthansa revealed that it experienced its strongest passenger growth of the network was recorded at the Zurich hub, with a growth of 7%.
This is followed by passenger increases in Vienna (4.7%) and in Munich (4.5%).
