More Options If You're Flying Dublin to London

British Airways announced today that it will start flying direct from Dublin to London City Airport from October. They plan to operate five flights a day from 26 October.

Flybe previously announced that they will operate four daily services from Dublin to London City from 27 October. At present, Cityjet operate six daily services on the route.

Willie Walsh, the chief executive BA's parent company, International Airlines Group, said, “Our customers wanted direct access to the docklands and London’s financial centre and the excellent schedule we are offering means they have plenty of choice whether they are flying for business or pleasure.”

The Dublin to London route is one of the busiest city routes in the world, with around four million passengers travelling on the route last year. BA already operates an eight times daily service between Dublin and London Heathrow. The aircraft for the new route will be based in Dublin overnight to facilitate early morning departures.

Managing Director of Dublin Airport Vincent Harrison welcomed the news and said they would be working with the company to promote the new route.
