Passenger Numbers Increase 4% At Cork Airport In October 2017

Passengers numbers rose 4% at Cork Airport last month compared to October 2016, with just over 197,300 people passing through the airport.

One of the key contributors to the rise in travellers was the continuation of the airport’s inaugural transatlantic service to Providence, Rhode Island, despite some disruption to the route due to Storm Ophelia in mid-October, as reported by The Irish Times.

A total of 42,000 people passed through the airport during the October bank holiday weekend alone, when Cork city held its annual jazz festival, and 2018 looks set to bring further growth to Cork Airport, with Aer Lingus Regional, Swiss Airlines and Volotea all launching new routes from Cork next summer.
