Sodexo UK & Ireland Reports Record Revenues For The Year

Catering services company Sodexo has reported that revenues for the UK and Irish divisions of the company increased by 9.6 per cent to €2 billion for the fiscal year ending 31 August 2016.

The company commented that it had achieved record trading for this region and attributed part of its 11.3 per cent growth to the Rugby World Cup in the first quarter, reports Thecaterer.com. Although, it added that even without the tournament there would have been growth of 5.3 per cent due to numerous contract wins and retentions.

Some of the contracts won in the year include the National Trust for Scotland, the Northern Ireland National Football Stadium at Windsor Park, and one worth €2 million annually from NUI Galway.

Sean Haley, regional chairman for Sodexo UK & Ireland, said: "We are delighted that over the past year we have won some significant new business while at the same time growing our existing accounts and achieving an excellent retention rate. At the heart of our strategy is our mission to improve the quality of life for our clients, customers and employees and this is key to how we do business."
