Successful Summer for Irish Tourism

This year continues to be a blockbuster year for Irish tourism as the latest CSO figures show visitor figures were up 12.2 per cent between July and August.

The North American market continues to strengthen in 2015 as visitors from the US and Canada increased by 14.2 per cent compared to the same period last year while there was a 12.6 per cent increase in trips from the UK.

The amount of Irish resident making trips abroad also increased, perhaps owing to the bad weather during the summer months, as 6.2 per cent more trips were made overseas.

2015 looks set to be a record year for Irish tourism, surpassing the 7.7 million people that visited in 2007.
