Sysco Ireland Plans To Acquire Ready Chef

Sysco Ireland, the foodservice distributor and a wholly owned subsidiary of Sysco Corporation, has announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire Ready Chef Ltd, a specialist supplier of fresh and prepared produce solutions to the foodservice industry.

Ready Chef generated €18.9 million in revenue in 2022 and currently employs 100 people at its depot in Glasnevin, Dublin.

‘Greater Value’

“This transaction will bring together the expertise, resources and talent of both organisations to deliver even greater value and choice to our customers,” said Mark Lee, CEO of Sysco Ireland.

“Following the completion of this transaction, Ready Chef will function as an independent division of Sysco Ireland, mirroring the approach taken with our Classic Drinks business.”

‘Family Business’

“Having built a family business over the last 40 years with my brother David, it is important for us to secure its long-term future,” said William Tallon, managing director at Ready Chef.

“By joining the Sysco family, we are confident we are achieving that.”

Current Management Team

Ready Chef will continue to operate independently, under the leadership of the current management team.

The acquisition is subject to Competition and Consumer Protection Commission approval.
